Information included on the rear label:

SOUTH CAROLINA has close ties to some of the most famous pirates of the Golden Age of Piracy! Charleston was a hub for these pirates such as Black Beard, Stede Bonnet and was the adolescent home of Anne Bonne.

Anne Bonny was one of the most famous women pirates of all time. She moved with her father from Ireland to England, and then to Charleston by the age of 10. As a teen, she set fire to her father’s land and sailed to the Caribbean. There she met Calico Jack Rackham and became his lover. Joining him in his pirate escapades, they sailed the high seas. She was captured alongside Rackham and Mary Read in October 1720.

No one knows what happened to her but many historians speculate that she returned to Charleston to live out her life. We would like to believe she returned with a treasure trove of coffee that we have plundered to share with everyone!
